The village of Banite is situated in the heart of Rhodope Mountain, in the narrow gorge of the river Malka Arda with 750mt altitude. In the village, near the river, rises hot mineral water, with a flow rate of 480 l/min. Near the sources, the antique baths were found which are the evidence that the village was also famous with its water in the past. The resort of Banite is a nice place for picnic with the beautiful nature alongside the river. The holiday resorts near to Banite are “Belite brezi” (25 km.), “Haidushki poliani” (30 km.), the hill of “Rojen and the Holiday Resort” (25 km.), “Prespa” and “Svoboda” (25 km.). North- east from the village set up peak “Veshkata”. From the village there are roads to natural masterpieces like: “Chudnite mostove”, “Yagodinskata Pestera” and the cave “Diavolskoto Gurlo” near the Trigrad, which are interesting for many local and foreign tourists. Banite is only 50 km to Greek Border.
The village is famous with its thermal water which is used for medical treatment for many centuries, and now in the Hospital situated there.The main cure factor is the mineral water, which is hyper thermal ; 43ºC , metasilisium, hydrocarbonate, Sulfate and nitrate, slightly alkaline; pH-7,2 slightly mineralization ; 0,913gr/l. The general Flow Rate of the Water is 18.0 lt/sec. or 1080 lt/min.

Climate is characterized by mild cool summer and moderately cold and sunny winter. The average long-year balance of the humidity is positive. There are a great many sunny days without rain in a year. Fog is not typical. This is very important both for tourism and agriculture.
